Born in New York City, Schram attended the University of Maryland on a tennis scholarship. She is best known for her role as Adrian Monk's original personal assistant, Sharona Fleming, on the TV series _Monk (2002)_ (qv). She is also known for her film debut role as Evelyn Gardner, the sobbing right-fielder who was reminded by 'Tom Hanks' (qv) that "There's no crying in baseball!" in 'Penny Marshall' (qv)'s box-office hit _A League of Their Own (1992)_ (qv). Schram followed that success with numerous critically acclaimed films, including _Kissing a Fool (1998)_ (qv), with 'David Schwimmer' (qv); _One Fine Day (1996)_ (qv), with 'Michelle Pfeiffer' (qv) and 'George Clooney' (qv); _Marvin's Room (1996)_ (qv), with 'Meryl Streep' (qv) and 'Diane Keaton' (qv); _The Pallbearer (1996)_ (qv), with 'Gwyneth Paltrow' (qv) and 'Toni Collette' (qv); _Caught (1996)_ (qv), with 'Edward James Olmos' (qv); 'Dennis Hopper' (qv)'s _Chasers (1994)_ (qv); _The Night We Never Met (1993)_ (qv), with 'Matthew Broderick' (qv); _Fathers & Sons (1992)_ (qv), with 'Jeff Goldblum' (qv); and _Cleopatra's Second Husband (1998)_ (qv). Schram was recently seen in _The Sure Hand of God (2004)_ (qv) and in _Unconditional Love (2002)_ (qv), with 'Kathy Bates' (qv).Schram is also an accomplished stage actor, having appeared as one of the original cast members of the hit Broadway production of 'Neil Simon' (qv)'s "Laughter on the 23rd Floor" with 'Nathan Lane' (qv), in the off-Broadway productions of "Blackout" and "One Acts" by 'Warren Leight' (qv); and in regional productions, including "Slow Dance on the Killing Ground."::Hacksaw
