Robert Zemeckis

A whiz-kid with special effects, Robert is from the Spielberg camp of film-making ('Steven Spielberg' (qv) produced many of his films). Usually working with writing partner 'Bob Gale' (qv), Robert's earlier films show he has a talent for zany comedy (_Romancing the Stone (1984)_ (qv), _1941 (1979)_ (qv)) and special effect vehicles (_Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988)_ (qv) and _Back to the Future (1985)_ (qv)). His later films have become more serious, with the hugely successful 'Tom Hanks' (qv) vehicle _Forrest Gump (1994)_ (qv) and the 'Jodie Foster' (qv) film _Contact (1997)_ (qv), both critically acclaimed movies.
