Richard Franklin Nichols was born on December 14, 1935 in Hollywood, California. He worked in movies from 6-months-old until about 12 years. He was the youngest of seven children, most of whom worked in movies. Older brothers worked in "Our Gang" comedies and in "The East Side Kids". Both 'Ray Nichols' (qv) and 'Paul Nichols' (qv) had parts in _Boys Town (1938)_ (qv) with 'Spencer Tracy' (qv). 'Eddie Nichols' (qv) played in _Incendiary Blonde (1945)_ (qv). 'Betty Jean Nichols' (qv) played in _The Bells of St. Mary's (1945)_ (qv).His first movie was as an infant in _Don't Turn 'em Loose (1936)_ (qv) in 1936; he had small parts in _The Blue Bird (1940)_ (qv) and _Swing, You Swingers! (1939)_ (qv). Four of the family played the four siblings in a home in _Vigil in the Night (1940)_ (qv); he and his sister, Betty, had small parts in _Hitler's Madman (1943)_ (qv); and he made many more appearances as a child actor.He attended Hollywood Professional School (1st Grade), Vine Street Elementary, Bancroft Junior High, and Hollywood High School. Later, he was a minister for 44 years and is now retired and living in the South. His wife is from Mississippi and they have two daughters and seven grandchildren.::Richard Franklin Nichols
