During the Second World War, 'Alf Malland' (qv) was a member of the famous Company Linge, named after the actor and captain 'Martin Linge' (qv). In 1951, as an young actor, Malland also worked as a guard, and on Christmas Eve that year, he was shot and seriously wounded by two burglars. Malland became a very popular stage and screen actor for many years, and in 1966, he received the Hugo award at Chicago film festival for the title role in the film: _Broder Gabrielsen (1966)_ (qv).::pekka trondsen
