Patricia Richardson

Whiskey-voiced 'Patricia Richardson' (qv) is best known as Jill Taylor on _Home Improvement (1991)_ (qv). For her work, she was nominated for two Golden Globe 'Awards' (qv) and four Emmy 'Awards' (qv). She also starred in two other comedies: _Eisenhower & Lutz (1988)_ (qv) with 'Scott Bakula' (qv), and _FM (1989)_ (qv) with 'Robert Hays' (qv). After pregnancy with twins and Home Improvement she took off a few years to be with her children. She rebooted her career as Dr. Andy Campbell, a character introduced after 'Janine Turner' (qv)'s departure from the show. She co-starred with 'Rosa Blasi' (qv) and 'Jenifer Lewis' (qv) on Lifetime's _Strong Medicine (2000)_ (qv), produced by 'Whoopi Goldberg' (qv). She was nominated for her work twice by the Prism 'Awards' (qv). She co-hosted The 46th Annual Primetime Emmy 'Awards' (qv) (1994) with 'Ellen DeGeneres' (qv), and was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award for her first starring role in a movie opposite 'Peter Fonda' (qv) in _Ulee's Gold (1997)_ (qv).She earned her BFA from Southern Methodist University and spent several years in New York doing theatre. She created roles in two 'Beth Henley' (qv) plays ("The Wake of Jamie Foster" and "The Miss Firecracker Contest"), Michael Weller's Loose Ends, Kevin Wade's Cruise Control, and various other plays on and off-Broadway and in regional theaters. She got her Actors Equity Card working in the chorus and understudying the character of Louise (based on 'Gypsy Rose Lee' (qv)) in 'Angela Lansbury' (qv)'s acclaimed revival of Gypsy on Broadway. She began her television career in an uncredited role in 1979 on _The Doctors (1963)_ (qv). She began working onstage again after her youngest child left for college. She appeared off-Broadway in "Cruel Intentions: The 90s Musical Experience"; voiced the Mother in _Dayworld (2018)_ (qv); and played Martha in a Lifetime movie, _A Christmas in Tennessee (2018)_ (qv).Richardson serves as the National Spokesperson and was on the Board of Directors for CurePSP, a patient advocacy organization for Progressive Supranuclear Palsy, the disease that killed her father.
