Jennifer Grey

'Jennifer Grey' (qv) is an American actress who starred in the film _Dirty Dancing (1987)_ (qv) opposite 'Patrick Swayze' (qv), a sleeper hit that would become one of the biggest films of the 1980s. She had previously appeared with 'Patrick Swayze' (qv) in 'John Milius' (qv)'s cold war drama _Red Dawn (1984)_ (qv) as 'Toni', one of the 'Wolverines', a group of renegade teenagers fighting for their country during World War III.She then starred in 'Francis Ford Coppola' (qv)'s _The Cotton Club (1984)_ (qv) and the 'John Badham' (qv) project _American Flyers (1985)_ (qv). By this time she had been linked in with the 'so-called' Brat Pack and unsurprisingly won a starring role in 'John Hughes' (qv)'s hit comedy _Ferris Bueller's Day Off (1986)_ (qv) playing the older sister of 'Matthew Broderick' (qv) and love interest of 'Charlie Sheen' (qv).As the 1980s drew to a close, Jennifer headlined 'Howard Brookner' (qv)'s romantic drama _Bloodhounds of Broadway (1989)_ (qv), which again teamed her with 'Alan Ruck' (qv), and also 'Matt Dillon' (qv) and 'Madonna' (qv). Since then she has worked steadily, starring in over 34 Film and TV appearances including _If the Shoe Fits (1990)_ (qv), _Wind (1992)_ (qv), and _Bounce (2000)_ (qv).Jennifer will nevertheless be best remembered as 'Baby' in _Dirty Dancing (1987)_ (qv), a role that earned her a Golden Globe Award nomination for Best Actress.::Matt Lee-Williams
