Aurelio Grimaldi

He began publishing stories, novels and essays in 1987. Among them were _The Whores (1994)_ (qv) (The Whores) and _Marco Terzi gibt nicht auf (1989)_ (qv) (Mary forever), which he adapted to the screen for director 'Marco Risi' (qv), for whom he subsequently wrote _Überleben in Palermo (1990)_ (qv). He also wrote the screenplay for 'Felice Farina' (qv)'s _The Last Breath (1992)_ (qv), 'Damiano Damiani' (qv)'s _Man of Respect (1993)_ (qv) and 'Claudio Camarca' (qv)'s _Quattro bravi ragazzi (1993)_ (qv). In 1992 he directed his first film, _Aclàs Abstieg nach Floristella (1992)_ (qv), which was shown at the Venice Film Festival. He then made two films from his own novels, _The Rebel (1993)_ (qv) (in competition at Locarno) and _The Whores (1994)_ (qv)(in competition at Cannes).::[email protected]
