Hera Hilmar

'Hera Hilmar' (qv) is an Icelandic actress. She is mostly known, outside of Iceland, for her role as Vanessa in the television series _Da Vinci's Demons (2013)_ (qv) (2013-2015), as Varya in _Anna Karenina (2012)_ (qv), as Eik in the Icelandic film _Life in a Fishbowl (2014)_ (qv), and as Lillie in _The Ottoman Lieutenant (2017)_ (qv). She was nominated for an Edda in 2007 for her role in _The Quiet Storm (2007)_ (qv). She won the Edda Award for Actress of the Year in 2015 for Vonarstræti (2014) and in 2017 for Eiðurinn (2016). She is a graduate of the London Academy of Music and Art. She is the daughter of actress 'Þórey Sigþórsdóttir' (qv) and film director 'Hilmar Oddsson' (qv).::David Gibson
