Clare Beavan

'Clare Beavan' (qv) is an award winning British Director and producer best known for _Daphne (2007)_ (qv), _Codebreaker (2011)_ (qv), _Simon Schama's Power of Art (2006)_ (qv) and _The Prince, the Showgirl and Me (2004)_ (qv). She was born in Hampshire and graduated from Goldsmiths College, London with a 2;1 degree. After working as a researcher she began directing and Series Producing documentaries for Channel 4. She then joined the BBC's _The Late Show (1992)_ (qv) Late Show team. She went on to direct a number of award winning documentaries for the BBC. In 2007, she produced and directed her first drama feature _Daphne (2007)_ (qv) described by Time Out as 'One of the most engrossing and inventive televisual literary profiles the BBC as made in years'.
