Virginia Newcomb

'Virginia Newcomb' (qv) is an actor and independent filmmaker with notable roles in; A24's _The Death of Dick Long (2019)_ (qv) by Daniel Scheinert (Sundance '19), which filmed in her home state of Alabama, _Peacock (2010)_ (qv) with Cillian Murphy, and _Reparation (2015)_ (qv) with Marc Menchaca. She recently completed filming Vanishing Angle's next feature starring opposite Jim Cummings, The Beta Test. Since returning South, Virginia has stepped into producing, on Lynn Shelton comedy feature _Sword of Trust (2019)_ (qv) with Marc Maron and Jillian Bell, and award winning short films such as Three Fingers in which she also stars.Newcomb's Broadway debut came in Jay Scheib's live cinema production of Chekhov's Platonov, which live streamed to Time Square and BAM Rose Cinemas. This innovative style of theatre continues to inspire her work, recently as creator of Cuclaorus Film Festival's annual commissioned Blue Velvet installation, Buys To Lumberton. Truly a lover of indie film and alternative theater, she can also be seen in popular shows, The Walking Dead, The Office, and Halt & Catch Fire.
