Dewey Bunnell

Singer, songwriter, and guitarist 'Dewey Bunnell' (qv) was born on January 19, 1952 in Harrogate, Yorkshire, England. His father was an 'America' (qv)n serviceman stationed in England. Bunnell met fellow musicians 'Gerry Beckley' (qv) and 'Dan Peek' (qv) in high school. The trio formed the folk-rock group 'America' (qv) in 1969. The band released their first album in 1971 and have recorded over twenty albums to date. Dewey wrote the hit songs "A Horse With No Name", "Ventura Highway" and "Tin Man" for the group.
