Illeana Douglas

'Illeana Douglas' (qv) is an actress, writer, and producer. Born with show business in her blood, she is the granddaughter of screen legend 'Melvyn Douglas' (qv). Illeana began studying acting at the Neighborhood Playhouse in New York. While working in New York as a stand-up comedian and sketch comedy artist, she got a job "screaming" for 'Martin Scorsese' (qv)'s _The Last Temptation of Christ (1988)_ (qv). This led to a long working relationship in the films, _New York Stories (1989)_ (qv), _Goodfellas (1990)_ (qv) and _Cape Fear (1991)_ (qv). She received critical acclaim as the suspicious sister of 'Matt Dillon' (qv) in _To Die For (1995)_ (qv), as "Denise Waverly" in _Grace of My Heart (1996)_ (qv) and "Roberta Allsworth" in _Ghost World (2001)_ (qv). On television, she has appeared on _Entourage (2004)_ (qv), _Ugly Betty (2006)_ (qv), and received an Emmy nomination as "Angela" on _Six Feet Under (2001)_ (qv).::[email protected]
