David Julian Hirsh

Born and Raised in Montreal, Hirsh studied at McGill and majored in Criminology at The University of Toronto. He left school one credit shy of his degree to train as an actor at the 'Lee Strasberg' (qv) Institute in New York. He has performed both On and Off Broadway.In Canada, Hirsh is well known to TV audiences as the titular role of Dr. Josh Gould in the hit TV series _Naked Josh (2004)_ (qv) (Showcase, Oxygen)), playing the love-able professor for three seasons. He starred as the hero (Jake Hersh) in the film adaptation of the iconic Canadian Novel _St. Urbain's Horseman (2007)_ (qv) by Mordechai Richler for CBC/BBC.In 2006 Hirsh won the Canadian Gemini Award for producing the critically acclaimed _Camp Hollywood (2004)_ (qv) - a film about the residents of dilapidated hotel in Hollywood.He moved to Los Angeles from Canada in 2008. In 2012, he joined the cast of _Weeds_ (Showtime) for the final season as the witty and spiritual Rabbi Dave, Nancy Botwin's ('Mary-Louise Parker' (qv)) love interest and eventual husband. Prior to that, he starred as the sweet and funny nurse Ray Stein, alongside 'Jada Pinkett Smith' (qv) and 'Michael Vartan' (qv) in _Hawthorne (2009)_ (qv) for several seasons. Hirsh can also be seen as recurring and guest starring on Touch, House of Lies, _CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (2000)_ (qv), _CSI: NY (2004)_ (qv), _Flashpoint (2008)_ (qv), and _Ghost Whisperer (2005)_ (qv) among many. Looking forward to 2013, David will be starring in _The Surrogacy Trap (2013)_ (qv) with 'Mia Kirshner' (qv) and in Twist of Faith with 'Toni Braxton' (qv).His recent film credits include starring as 'Tom Hayden' in The Chicago 8 with 'Philip Baker Hall' (qv), 'Gary Cole' (qv), and 'Danny Masterson' (qv), _The Trotsky (2009)_ (qv), with 'Jay Baruchel' (qv), and Noel , with 'Susan Sarandon' (qv), 'Penélope Cruz' (qv), and 'Alan Arkin' (qv).David lives in Los Angeles when not on location.::Lina
